Florida has a variety of scholarship options for families with special needs children. These scholarships, called Gardiner Scholarships, may be used for a variety of educational services, including private school tuition, tutoring, specialized services like occupational therapy or speech therapy, instructional materials and more. The average scholarship value is $10,418.
To qualify for Gardiner Scholarships, students must have an Individual Educational Plan (a written plan for the special education of a student with a disability), or a diagnosis of a disability from a licensed physician or psychologist; and one of the following disabilities:
